This scholarly article review is designed to enhance nurses' knowledge and awareness of current evidence-based guidelines for recognizing and responding to clinical deterioration in hospitalized patients outside the ICU. By critically reviewing the Society of Critical Care Medicine Guidelines on Recognizing and Responding to Clinical Deterioration Outside the ICU: 2023, learners will gain insights into best practices for early recognition, escalation of care, rapid response systems, and team-based interventions.
