Silent Victims Among Us: Identification and Treatment of Human Trafficking Victims in the Hospital Setting

Target Audience

This online interprofessional educational enduring materiall is designed for nurses and physicians. We also welcome social workers and other professionals who may encounter patients affected by human trafficking.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to: 

  • Appreciate the opportunities for identification of human trafficking victims in the hospital setting.
  • Learn interviewing strategies that will increase the likelihood that a human trafficking victim will feel comfortable enough to disclose and seek treatment.
  • Recognize the importance of collaboration between healthcare professionals and law enforcement in the identification and treatment of human trafficking victims.
