THHEB Trauma Grand Rounds - Are you Waving or Drowning: The Silent Killer
Target Audience
This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for designed for physicians and nurses involved in the care of trauma patients. We also invite allied health professionals to take this course. Its purpose is to address the fact that there are rapidly changing technologies, procedures and pharmacology agents in dealing with trauma care.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:
- Define drowning terminology
- Discuss the epidemiology and risk factors related to drownings
- Define early treatment interventions for drowning patients
- Discuss outcomes related to therapeutic hypothermia in drowning patients
- Identify ways to improve patient care through interprofessional communication amongst the heath care team
