THAL Trauma Grand Rounds - The Basics of Burn Care

Target Audience

This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for designed for physicians and nurses involved in the care of trauma patients. We also invite clinical staff to take this course.  Its purpose is to address the fact that there are rapidly changing technologies, procedures and pharmacology agents in dealing with trauma care.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:

  • Examine the multidisciplinary team’s approach to treatment and care of the burn patient
  • Differentiate between first, second and third degree burns
  • Develop a plan of care for patients based on a level of total body surface area burn.
