Target Audience
This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed all physicians and clinical staff involved in the care of trauma patients. Its purpose is to address the need that there are rapidly changing technologies, procedures, and pharmacology agents in dealing with trauma in the geriatric population.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:
- Identify non-healing ulcerations and the need for and advanced limb preservation techniques
- Discuss pre-existing causes and the relationship to chronic wound issues
- Describe hyperbaric oxygen and its relationship to the traumatic injuries
- Identify and use advanced wound care products for chronic wounds and the traumatically injured patient
- Improve wound care and prevention in the traumatically injured patient by creating collaboration between wound care teams and trauma teams
