During the first two sessions, we laid the foundation for why a hospitality mindset is important. During the third session, we explore how to connect hospitality to quality. Integrating patient experience into performance improvement and quality metrics shifts the perspective of hospitality and compassion from a "nice to have" to "this is how we operate". We examine how various root cause analysis tools can ensure team members are supported in their work to create an exceptional patient experience. A high-level overview of performance improvement methods will also be discussed so that nurse leaders are able to visualize where opportunities are. We illustrate the possibilities of hospitality and quality using a case study from a hospital system that prioritizes hospitality across the entire system.
