THAMH Trauma Grand Rounds - Early Recognition & Rescue of the Injured Patient
Target Audience
This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for all physicians and nurses involved in the care of trauma patients. We also invite clinical staff to take this course. Its purpose is to address the fact that there are rapidly changing technologies, procedures and pharmacology agents in dealing with trauma care.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:
- Discuss risk factors for failure to rescue and unplanned ICU admissions in the injured patient
- Identify ten major early warning signs suggesting clinical decline in the injured patient
- Describe essential strategies for the multidisciplinary healthcare team to use in practice to prevent failure to rescue of the injured patient
