THD NICU Grand Rounds - Hirschsprung Disease: Diagnosis and Management in the NICU and Beyond

Target Audience

This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for physicians and nurses in neonatology, pediatrics and obstetrics. We also invited respiratory therapists to take this course.  Its purpose is to address the need to provide the latest recommendations of neonatal care and identify best practices for neonatal intensive care.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the presentation and diagnosis of Hirschsprung disease, with regards to the varying levels of severity and the importance of pathologic evaluation in diagnosis and treatment
  • Review different operative strategies in the management of Hirschsprung disease
  • Discuss the importance of long term follow up and multidisciplinary care in patients with Hirschsprung disease
