Target Audience

This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for physicians and nurses caring for trauma patients.  We also invite other members of the trauma care team to take the course.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss how the history of major burn disasters helped stimulate improvements in burn care
  • Discuss how we go about determining how deep burns are based on their characteristics
  • List several types of burn topical agents or dressings and discuss their strengths and weakness
  • Discuss several allied health specialties that are essential and paramount in the care of major burn patients
