Learning Objectives
At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:
- Describe the epidemiology of trauma-induced acute kidney injury and identify key demographic and clinical factors that increase risk among critically injured patients
- Evaluate as a multidisciplinary team the evidence early vs. delayed initiation of renal replacement therapy in major trauma and develop shared criteria to guide timing decisions across professions
- Explain the role of emerging biomarkers in early acute kidney injury detection and evaluate how these tools may improve diagnostic accuracy compared to serum creatinine alone
