This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for psychiatrists and licensed psychotherapists. We also invite psychologists, nurses, therapists, mental health technicians, clergy, administrators, EMS and other professionals working with behavioral health patients to take this course.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:
- Differentiate obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) from other anxiety conditions and from obsessive compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) and explain how accurate diagnosis supports coordinated, timely care across the care team
- Identify the core principles of exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy and articulate practical steps a therapist can take to ensure effective treatment for routine cases of OCD
- Determine when medication is clinically indicated for OCD and recognize the role of advanced interventions for highly complex treatment-resistant cases
