Marshia Allen, PsyD, LPC-S
An award-winning mental health practitioner, experienced presenter, and author, Marshia Allen is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Registered Play Therapist. Marshia holds a master's degree in counseling, with a specialty in Play Therapy from the top-ranked play therapy program in the world, the University of North Texas.
For over a decade, she has worked with children, adolescents and families dealing with issues such as grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting, and other issues that affect one's life and relationships in a variety of settings including private practice, inpatient, and day program hospital settings. She also has provided crisis-counseling services, aiding community members in tragedy including victims impacted by the 2013 EF5 tornado devastation in Moore, Oklahoma, the 2015 EF4 tornado victims in Texas, Rowlett, and in response to COVID-19’s community impact.
In her free time, Dr. Allen enjoys volunteering with the Texas Health Resouces Foundation. Through Texas Health Resources Foundation's partnership with Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute, advocacy efforts are occurring within various North Texas school districts to combat the childhood mental health epidemic.
