THD OB/GYN Grand Rounds - Case Presentation: Complicated Obstetric Patient that was COVID Positive

Target Audience

This online educational enduring material is designed for OB/GYN physicians.  We also invite nurses to take this course.  Its purpose is for physicians to become more knowledgeable about the obstetrical/gynecological diseases and conditions and more efficient in the evaluation and management of concerns unique to their patients.  

Learning Objectives

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:

  • Review the physiologic changes of pregnancy which occur in the term parturient
  • Review the general physiology of moderate to severe mitral stenosis, pulmonary hypertension and RV dysfunction and how normal maternal physiologic changes impacted the clinical course of the patient
  • Discuss how the care of this patient demonstrates the key concepts of reliability as the sum of system robustness and resilience in a multidisciplinary medical team
