Target Audience

This online interprofessional enduring material is designed for physicians and nurses caring for cardiovascular patients.  We also invite physician assistants, pharmacists, EMS, physical therapists and other allied health professionals to take this course.  Its purpose is to address the need for knowledge and competence in regard to the latest cardiovascular treatment recommendations and considerations.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss the difference between supportive and palliative care (SPC) and hospice
  • Describe the advantages of having SPC as conjunctive support for patients experiencing heart failure
  • Explain the importance of addressing psychosocial and spiritual distress symptoms in the cardiac population
