THFW Ethics Grand Rounds - Alzheimer’s Disease and Health Disparity: Issues in Research and Treatment

Target Audience

This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for physicians and nurses.  We also invite healthcare professionals to take this course.  Its purpose is to facilitate the process of making ethical decisions in clinical practice, teaching and medical research system and hospital standards for care.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the rates of Alzheimer’s disease in underrepresented racial/ethnic populations
  • Discuss the impact of the low participation of underrepresented ethnic groups in clinical trials on our knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease
  • Review the role of interdisciplinary professional healthcare teams in increasing participation of underrepresented ethnic/racial groups in clinical trials
