Target Audience

This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for designed for psychiatrists and social workers.  We also invite psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, recreational therapists, mental health technicians, clergy and administrators to take this course.  Its purpose is to address the need for behavioral health and psychiatric issues/treatments.

Learning Objectives

  • Increase awareness among healthcare professionals regarding both prevalence and risk factors associated with suicide within healthcare professions, including the unique stressors and challenges faced by healthcare workers
  • Identify and discuss protective factors and strategies that can mitigate the risk of suicide among healthcare workers, including fostering supportive work environments, promoting self-care practices, and overcoming stigma-related barriers to seeking treatment
  • Equip healthcare professionals with information regarding available resources while encouraging the continued promotion of mental health awareness in the workplace
