THD OB/GYN Grand Rounds - Understanding Current Maternal Mortality Data: The Importance of Extending Maternal Care After Pregnancy

Target Audience

This online educational enduring material is designed for OB/GYN physicians.  We also invite nurses to take this course.  Its purpose is for physicians to become more knowledgeable about the obstetrical/gynecological diseases and conditions and more efficient in the evaluation and management of concerns unique to their patients.  

Learning Objectives

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss challenges with maternal mortality data
  • Discuss responses to maternal mortality crisis
  • Review findings from Texas Maternal Mortality Review Committees
  • Describe a demonstration project targeting an underserved community for postpartum care
  • Review findings from the community for future-state efforts targeting social determinants of health
