THD NICU Grand Rounds - Acute Liver Failure (ALF) in Neonates

Target Audience

This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for physicians and nurses in neonatology, pediatrics and obstetrics. We also invited respiratory therapists to take this course.  Its purpose is to address the need to provide the latest recommendations of neonatal care and identify best practices for neonatal intensive care.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:

  • Review the major signs and symptoms of acute liver failure in neonates
  • Identify major causes of this condition in the neonatal period
  • Review the work up for ALF in neonates
  • Discuss the management of ALF in newborn infants
