Target Audience

This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists and respiratory therapists involved in the care of critical care patients.  We also invite physician assistants and other healthcare professionals to take this course.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the difficulties health care professionals experience in our desire to balance advances in technology with whole person care (screen time vs. eye time)
  • Explain a scientifically proven method for amplifying humanism and dignity that we can implement, one patient at a time, to reduce delirium, PTSD, dementia and depression
  • Discuss how to harness the power of human story as a hopeful path forward to preserve our vocation in the healing art of medicine
