Target Audience

This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists in neonatology, pediatrics and obstetrics. Its purpose is to address the need to provide the latest recommendations of neonatal care and identify best practices for neonatal intensive care.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:

  • Describe normal fetal development of the brain and sensory systems.
  • Explain the impact of the extrauterine environment on the development of the immature brain and sensory systems.
