Target Audience

This online interprofessional educational enduring material is designed for physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and allied health professionals in neonatology, pediatrics and obstetrics.  Its purpose is to address the need for the latest recommendations of neonatal care and identify best practices for neonatal intensive care

At the end of this online enduring material, participants should be able to:

  • Describe antimicrobial classes commonly used in neonatal populations
  • Review clinical conditions that present challenging treatment issues
  • Discuss antimicrobial resistance and its implication for treatment
  • Review the multidisciplinary healthcare team’s role in the management and administration of antimicrobials to the neonate infant
